Task: Starbucks had a baffling issue. They realized there was a gap—A hole in their audience. For some reason, they weren't able to reach young, Black audiences. Alongside a designer, we were able to assess the gap in outreach and messaging, but centered a Starbucks Rewards program around what brings this powerful demographic together—community and sharing. It was an honor to be a part of developing this concept from the themes, styleboards, shots, guidelines, wardrobe and styling, to selecting locations. Plus, I got to fly out to the original Starbucks in Seattle.
